Horton Animal Hospital Central is a full service veterinary hospital. We provide care for dogs and cats. Our veterinarians offer quality preventative, diagnostic, surgical and dental care for your pet.

Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
About Our Doctors
All of our veterinarians are members of the American Veterinary
Medical Association and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. John S. Williams came to Columbia in 1959,
from Adair County, Missouri. He attended Hickman High School and
the University of Missouri-graduating from the College of Veterinary
Medicine in 1972. After a year of practice in St. Louis, he returned
to Columbia to join the Horton Animal Hospital professional staff.
He and his wife Sally have three children-John, Michael, and Jessica, and one granddaughter, Anna.
Dr. Williams is active in the Chamber of Commerce, writes and edits
articles for several pet magazines, and is the original disc jockey
of a weekly radio call-in show for pet owners.
Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) S. Hussey was born in St.
Louis and raised in Fayette, Missouri after a brief stint in New
York City. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
from MU in 1984 and received her DVM degree in 1989. She has been
with Horton Animal Hospitals since her graduation, starting as a
relief veterinarian and moving on to an associate position before
becoming a partner in 1999.
Dr Hussey lives on a farm in Rocheport and is an active equestrian, showing her Thoroughbred and Quarter Horses in dressage and eventing. Dr. Hussey is the current
disc jockey of the weekly radio show and has served on the board
of the Central Missouri Humane Society in the past.
Dr. Steve Brush is a Columbia native having attended Hickman High
School, the University of Missouri, and the UMC College of Veterinary
Medicine. He has been working at Horton Animal Hospital since he graduated
in 1995. He worked at the Forum location for several years before moving
across town to the Central office where he currently practices. Steve and
his wife Kim have four children-Michael, Elizabeth, Megan, and Joshua. He
enjoys spending time with his family, is active in the Boy Scouts of
America, and is a past President of the Boonslick Kiwanis Club.
Dr. Beth Luebbering moved to Columbia in 2002. She completed her Bachelor's degree at Truman State University, where she competitively ran Cross Country and Track & Field for four years. In addition, she is a two time all-American in the 10,000 meter run. After graduating from Truman, she began her veterinary training at the University of Missouri. She joined Horton Animal Hospitals in 2006. She continues her running as a member of the Columbia Track Club and helps coach the CTC Colts youth cross country team. She is also a member of the local PEO chapter. Dr. Luebbering has a special interest in physical therapy and orthopedics.
She has two cats, Izzy and Rolen, and a dog, Molly.
